Recently I had the opportunity to complete a commission in a medium I haven't used for a while - watercolour. I like to use ink drawings and then work up the painting with very loose paint, mostly wet-in-wet, with delicate highlights and strong contrasts. It's been a great pleasure to re-discover watercolour with one of my favourite subjects: Italian Greyhounds.

'Tangerine Blanket 1'

Zoomie asleep on the sofa with his favourite blanket. Zoomie's coat colour is 'blue fawn' which is a very delicate shade that lends itself well to watercolour paints. His coat varies from raw-sienna fawn through to very delicate purples, pinks and soft greys.
