‘I am drawn to the textural voice of paint and aim to capture the ‘moment’ with a three dimensional quality so the painting becomes both object and impression.  I use colours and shapes to sculpt facets of my subjects while designing the visual impact of the painting as an emotional relationship.  I aim for a complex depth where the viewer constantly finds new sources of interest as the painting is ‘read’ in several dimensions. I work mostly with oil paints on canvas and paint with brushes, knives and my fingers.’
